CBM in collaboration with National Institute for empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan) – NIEPMD, Chennai organised a consultation workshop titled “Progress is impossible without change”to strengthen programmes for individual with Disabilities (Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Disabilities) – early intervention, education, skill development programmes held on the18th& 19th December 2018 at NIEPMD, Chennai.
During this 2 days’ workshop eminent personalities in the field of Disabilities discussed and deliberated on the existing education and skill development programs and further how to strengthen programmes for individual with Disabilities (Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Disabilities) and how we can improve the quality of education and reach out to more individuals with disability.
70 Participants from more than 12 states participated and deliberated during these two days. Dr. Himangshu Das, Director, NIEPMD, Prof.P. Jeyachandran, Founder Director, Vijay Human Services, Chennai, Dr. Sara Varughese, Managing Trustee CBM India Trust were present during the workshop. Certificates and awards were distributed to the participants by Tmt. V. Amuthavalli, IAS, Director, Social Welfare Department, Chennai at the Valedictory function. Mr. Rajan on behalf of Life Help Centre for the Handicapped also participated and moderated one session on Skill Development.
Chennai Coastal Rotary Club and Gleneagles Global Hospitals jointly organised a Free Cardiac Medical Screening Camp at Life Help Centre for the Handicapped, Neelangarai, East Coast Road, Chennai today i.e 16th December 2018.
More than 75 patients availed the facilities like Random Blood Sugar test, ECG, ECHO & Consultation. Dr. Vaithi, Senior Cardialogist, Dr. BalajiT. Nararajan from Global Hospitals provided free Consultation.
Rtn. Rajiv Gupta, Rtn. Vinoth Kumar, Rtn. Krishna Prasath visited and interacted with the Doctors and patients. Dr. Blaze Kannan, Managing Director and Hon’ Secretary of LHC extended all the support. Mr. Ashok Kumar, Global Hospitals, Volunteers from Life Help Centre and Mr. Rajan, Coordinator made all the arrangements for the success of the camp.
Department for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Tamil Nadu organised Cultural Programme and Awards Distribution Function in the eve of International Day of the Differently Abled- 2018 on 3rd December 2018 at Vivekanandar Auditorium, Anna University.
More than 25 Special Schools with 1200 Children participated in this event. There will be an award distribution function in the evening and Minister for Social Welfare will b the Chief Guest.
Life Help Centre for the Handicapped, Neelangarai, Chennai participated with 50 Special Children and Staff.
Rehabilitation Council of India under Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in Association with Sathya Special School, Puduchery organized a one day Capacity Building workshop for the interested persons in the field Disability on 11th March 2019 at its campus. More than 150 participants attended the programme. Mr. P. Rajan, Coordinator, Life Help Center for the Handicapped Chennai represented on behalf of the organization.
Prasee Dance Studio” organized 8th ’NAYAGAN the real hero – 2019 on 2nd March at Rasika Ranjani Sabha, Mylapore Chennai. More than 200 Special Children from 10 Special Schools in Chennai participated in the Cultural event.
It was very colorful to witness the event performed by our Special Children. From Navapraja Special School and VTC of Life Help Center for the Handicapped 20 of our Special Children participated in this great event and won 2nd Prize with Medal and Certificate. It was a proud and joyful moment for them. Children were honored before other Children in the Vocational Training Center.
On 22nd February 2019 a group of Children of Class VIII C from Sacred Heart Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Church Park, Chennai visited along with their Class Teacher Mrs. Asha Jineesh to our Life Help Center for the Handicapped, Neelangarai, Chennai. All the Children interacted with our Navapraja Special School Children and Vocational Training Center Adults and spent almost 3 hours with them. They were briefed about the history of our Organisation and different categories of Children in the field of Disabilities. They shared eatable with our children and exchanged of exhibiting their skills fun filled day.
It was a very different kind of exposure to them and eye opener on such situation. Mr. P. Rajan, Coordinator, Mrs. Leelavathy and Special Educators and Therapists were engaged with them.
Navapraja Special School and Vocational Training Center run by Life Help Center for the Handicapped Chennai celebrated 70th Republic Day celebration with the Special Children and Adults, Staff members. Children performed March Past and good show of Physical Exercise. Mr. P. Rajan, Co-Ordinator, LHC participated as a Chief Guest and hoisted the flag and took salute from the Children. On this event he addressed the Children in a simple language on the importance of this Special Day and distributed sweets to all the Children and Staff.
Madhuram Narayanan Centre for Exceptional Children provides Early Intervention services for children (6 years and below) with Mental Retardation (MR), Developmental Delays (DD) and associated disabilities like Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Down’s syndrome (DS), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Hydrocephaly, Microcephaly, Metabolic Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD).
Maduram Narayanan Centre for Special children celebrated Pongal festival today 11.01.2019 with Children, parents and Staff. P. Rajan, Coordinator, Life Help Centre for the Handicapped was a Chief guest and distributed prizes to the winners of Kolam competition and Children and mothers performed cultural events and it was enjoyed by every one
